What is it with mornings?
I’m not really a morning person. Heck, I have trouble dragging myself to the bathroom to prepare for work every single day (have to be at the office by 6 am so I can leave at 2 pm), and I’ve been doing this for more than two years now! Whew!
But what I like most about mornings is the food. Almusal! Breakfast! I like restos that offer an all-day breakfast. On a very recent trip to Bora, my wife and I immensely enjoyed the breakfast buffet offered by the resort. We stayed in Boracay Tropics, away from the crowd in the beachfront (really nice resort, with friendly and very accomodating staff ). Every breakfast was like a food adventure. Our favorite was the dilis flakes. It was the first time we saw and tasted that kind of dried fish. Imagine that very tiny fish being individually sliced in half and the innards removed. Tough luck for the guy doing this everyday!
But then the mornings in Manila are also great. And today, while walking from our building to the parking lot, my wife commented on how beautiful mornings are and how the smell of the air seems much sweeter than, say, at noon. Iba talaga ang umaga

We were in S&R Alabang last night. We had no plans of buying anything, just to look around, kill time, and maybe grab a bite in ATC or Westgate later.
We had no idea that they were having a sale. Yup! A huge SALE! Some of the things on sale were such a great deal that we end of buying some items that are such a steal!
We bought the best roasted chicken I’ve ever tasted, much much better than Andok’s, for only php199, with a free liter of pepsi.
Some sheets (1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet, and 2 pillow cases) and duvet for php1000. Really nice. 300 thread count, 100% cotton. The higher the thread count, the better and pricier.
Comforter, white, king size, for only php1500. Soft and fluffy. A really good buy!
At syempre, the favorite, Ben&Jerry’s ice cream (Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough for me, Banana Split for my wife). The last time we bought some ice cream in S&R (The Fort), we were prepared. We nicked some disposable spoons from the supermarket, and we were so giddy and excited that we able to finish one tub on the way home. Its just too bad that this time though we didn’t have spoons.

I recently heard this in the American Idol tv show. My wife regularly watches the show, and the contestant’s rendition was simply superb.
