Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. -Max Ehrmann, Desiderata

come and get it

July 31, 2008

This might be too late.

But just in case there is one near you or you plan to go out later, better stop by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. This was just e-mailed to me by Trish. Just print and present the coupon below to get your free latte. We were at Asian Hospital yesterday, very near Alabang Town Center, where the nearest CBTL branch is located. Have I known about this, we might have stopped by. Anyway, if you canmake it tonight, well, lucky you.

gra-be! wow!

July 29, 2008

Excuse the use of gra-be. It’s a private joke that I won’t share.

Just a short shoutout to my wife!

Thank you for the wondeful dinner last night, among other things. ;)

I know you are tired from all the work and stress at the office. Just know that I appreciate all the things you do, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. You are super. Thank you. iloveu.

the power went out

I feel like this is worse than global warming. The power went out yesterday afternoon as I was finishing up work at the office. And when it finally came back, my files got corrupted. Word’s autorecovery feature didn’t help. Hours of work wasted. And I’m getting stressed. What do you do when you get stressed? I like playing online Kids games to relax and destress, maybe a solitaire or mahjong. And if I’m up for the challenge, maybe some mac games like virtual villagers. Well, I better get back to starting and finishing that file. I just hope that power stays up today.

a good solution

July 26, 2008

I hate going to the bank and waiting in line. And with the soaring gas prices today, I am finding myself doing most of my banking online. No sense wasting my time driving to the bank when I could do it online. So imagine my surprise when I found out about online payments. Yeah, I know, I’m only recently becoming a techie. What is great about this is that you can do transactions right at the comfort of your home or office, anywhere in the globe, using debit cards. Isn’t that amazing! With this, I can send and receive money to and from my relatives all over the globe. Well, they are mostly in the California and Virginia, and one is in Canada, and this online thing is a beauty for us.

Anyway, I found http://www.epayarea.com (EPAY) over Internet a few days ago. So what is EPAY? Well, basically, it’s a gateway for us to do money transactions around the world over the Internet. They use the latest technology in data encryption and protection so we can be assured that our transactions are secured. The system can also be used by companies and corporations who want to simplify their current payroll systems, with the additional benefits of instant and secured money transfer to their employees. I think our company will greatly benefit from this.Oh yeah, EPAY is linked with Paypal. And because of that, you can use your EPAY virtual credit cards to verify your Paypal account. I sure wish I found about this a long time ago, what with the hassle of verifying my Palpal account. Also, you can arrange your clients to pay you through your EPAY account. And did I mention that it is partnered with millions of online shops? So online purchases over at Ebay, along with other online shops, are possible. Very useful considering the coming holidays.

Opening an account is free. Hop on over to their site and fill up the application form. It is that easy!

it’s not just something you feel

July 22, 2008

Taken from the Daily Scripture Blog

Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?

Faith is more than something you just feel. Many people confuse emotions and feelings with faith. They come to church and they are moved emotionally, they’re inspired, and they’re stimulated. They get a quiver in their liver and say, “Oh, man! I’m moved!”

In the book of James, we get a brief glimpse at hollow sentimentality. James minces no words. He’s saying, “You go out on the street and you see some homeless person who’s destitute and simply say, “Cheer up,” or “Don’t worry, be happy!” “Feel good!” “Put on a happy face.” “Smile, smile, smile!” For God’s sake, do something!

Faith is practical. It gets involved in people’s hurts. And when you see a need, you do something about it. James says faith is something you do. You don’t just feel it. You have responsibilities.

One by one. Great opportunities to serve God seldom come, but small opportunities surround us daily. You need to look for those little opportunities because faith is not just something you say, and it’s not just something you feel.
