Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. -Max Ehrmann, Desiderata

offering thought

September 29, 2008

In last Sunday’s lecture, our church pastor stressed the importance of working. He said that if one wants to eat, one should be working. Working does not necessarily mean doing something we love, because only a few people have that. Lots of people quit their jobs or have no jobs because they don’t like their work, their boss, or their coworkers. Life is not fair. Nothing is free. If you want something, you’ve got to work for it, even if that means doing something you don’t like.

My wife and I were talking in the car the other day and noting that there are so many ways to make money, especially with the Internet. One can buy and sell stuff, and have an ecommerce merchant account. One can also do some paid blogging, freelance editing/writing, and a whole lot of things. There are tons of jobs available. You just have to look.
