Moon Garden casita

February 12, 2009

We were looking for something out of the ordinary, something different from the usual hotel feel. After days of Internet search, I found it. The Moon Garden in Tagaytay. Reservation is as easy an e-mail to Peter of Moon Garden. An overnight stay in one of their eight casitas will set you back Php3000, inclusive of VAT and service charges. An added breakfast for two will cost an additional Php500, which we did not get since we have lunch reservations at Hawaiian Bar-b-que, The Boutique.

Here are pictures going to our charming little casita, our home for the night.

Inside the casita: (1) A huge dresser with mirror and partial view of the table. (2) Another smaller cabinet, the TV is right on top, and partial view of the table. (3) A view of the lush green garden from the room. (4) The huge bed.

casita003

Notice that right behind the bed wall is the bathroom. No doors folks! So much for privacy. :) We have stayed in similar room when we went to Bohol a few years back, so this wasn’t that much of a surprise. (1) Shower stall. (2) His and hers wash area right at the back of the bed wall. (3) Toilet with bidet. No tabo in sight! (4) Bathroom floor. Water tends to accumulate here, along with the soap suds, so it gets a little bit messy.

Finally, a small area to lounge and have tea. It would have been better if it has aluminum fence installation and lush greens for more privacy. Better yet, a small tub with hot water would have been perfect.

Ooops! Before I forget, let me leave you with this creepy picture of a huge painting inside our room. INSIDE OUR ROOM! Notice face hiding in the bushes and the eye staring (circled in red).

Rico, the painting was freaking me out, were you not bothered by the creepy eye and the face?

Posted by sheng at February 12, 2009, 8:44 am

That painting is giving me the heebie-jeebies. :(
And I don’t get easily scared.

kg: Maganda din. Rustic. Initially you feel like it’s dusty, but it’s not.

Sheng: I was not looking at the painting the whole time we were there. Really creepy. Better sana if they replace it with something more soothing.

TPS: Would you believe Jane and I were even trying to look for other hidden faces. And it’s right beside the bed!

I wonder who’s the painter. I like the place. Time to explore next time.

what can I say….it’s awesome. I visited their site. It so lovely…in one with nature :)

The place is soooo pretty although the painting gave me creeps. How was your lunch at the Hawaian Bbq, The Boutique? I’ve heard good things about it.

Wits: Some of the paintings are good though (for sale I heard). The one in our room was the only thing that’s “different.”

Marites: You should try it. It’s a bit liberating.

Jeanny: A must try really.

Jetty: Will write a post about that soon. ;)

yikes, that painting is creepy! but this place is unique - parang combination of an old house and a modern one.

whoa! the toilet looks really interesting! ;-)

It might be nice but still security is not their top priority for their guests. Our car was broken into , smashed the windows and stole all our valuables which was hidden underneath already worth 140T , but the owner did not do anything about it. They dont have any security guards of which we took for granted bec we thought they have considering it was recommended.surveillance cameras are not working, its just a display! Meaning we should be scared coz next time you know you were sleeping, you might be murdered or just left for dead ! this is just a WARNING ! IT WAS A TOTAL BAD COFFEE EXPERIENCE FOR OUR FAMILY in the middle of the afternoon.

according to the police , it was the second time it happened but again they did not heed the advice of the police authorities to get security guards. Look around their properties, somebody can just climbed inside your room coz i dont think a perimeter wall or safety devices to ensure security of their guests. What s pissing me is total abandonment of that Peter Belgium of not even trying to console us or even a single word of apology for had happened inside their property. it is a” never again place”.

Posted by MJ at March 6, 2009, 2:54 pm

Bem: Haha! None! Okay rin except for the painting. Itong room lang yata namin meron nito.

eks and Caryn: Well if you’re doing number 2 you kinda need privacy. Just turn on the TV and increase the volume. ;)

Glenville: Ganda rin. But I have a feeling we won’t be going back. Lots on new and nicer B&B’s in Tagaytay.

MJ: Whoa! Good thing that didn’t happen to us. You’re right though, security was totally lacking!
