Do you still remember the show Thundercats? I used to watch this cartoon back in the 80s when I was still a kid. This is one of my favorite cartoons at that time, right beside Voltron: Defender of the Universe and Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light. Each episode starts with the show intro featuring Lion-O hollering “Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats, Hoooo!”

Last week, a friend here at the office mentioned that he’s downloading via torrent all 130 episodes of the show. And he gladly gave me a copy of season 1, which has 65 episodes. I’ll get the rest of the episodes when he finishes downloading. I wonder if any of the kids nowadays will appreciate the show? And while Yuan is still too young to watch this show from his uppababy vista (which we call his Ferrari), you can bet that I’d make him watch the show when he grows a bit more.
Last night, we watched episodes 1–3. And we felt like kids again. It was nostalgic. Memories of the characters Lion-O, Lord of the Thundercats, came back. He has this sword called Sword of Omens that he swings around and gets big. There was Tygra, who has the bolo whip and can become invisible; Cheetara, who has a bow staff, runs very fast, and can see into the past and future; Panthro, who made the Thundertank; the mischievous youngsters Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat; Snarf, who’s real name is Osbert and Lion-O’s nursemaid; and Jaga the Wise, Lion-O’s ghost guardian.

Favorite EPs were the ones that Lion-O had to beat each of the Thundercats — like outwit the Willy-Kit and Kat, outrun Cheetara, etc . More into Tygra though, up to now I think he can still beat Lion-O’s a**. Crap, I’m 30 now but I still remember watching this…
