Last year’s annual Christmas dinner with my wife’s girlfriends (and their husbands) way back from their CSA days is one for the books. Great times, as always, with good friends and excellent food. The gracious F. and M. were our host again. This time though, our tables were decked in red to make it more festive. Silver cutlery, crystal glasses, and white plates with snowflakes elegantly etched on the sides were arranged for our simple feast. Citronella candles were scattered around the spacious garden to ward of mosquitoes, and the effect of the dim lights created just the perfect setting.
We had a really wonderful pumpkin soup (made by my MIL), Mango Oriental Salad with crunchy hito croutons (care of R., who’s the only one yet to give us wedding invitations), baked tahong and prawns (from F. and M.), steamed lapu-lapu and pork bbq (from D. and JC), and a Belgian chocolate cake (sent by KG). We also had an assortment of softdrinks, juices, and bottles of Asti.
Of course we had to play Pinoy Henyo too! It was men versus women, and the women won (cheaters!).
We’re already looking forward to this year’s dinner.
Congrats to the Pinoy Henyo winners! When I was still subscribed to GMA Pinoy TV, I catched some episodes in Eat Bulaga. Mukha ngang masaya syang laruin. =)
