For more than a week now, we’ve had new canteen operators. And so far, we have nothing but good/satisfactory things to say about them.
One of the first things I noticed is that there is an ample number of food servers. The last canteen operator had their cashier also serving food. Can you just imagine her handling money and then scooping food? Talk about serious sanitary concerns right? What if she’s using home treatment for hemorrhoids, forgot to wash hands, and then served food? Because clearly those people don’t know hygiene. And on one of their last days, a friend found a cockroach in her order of menudo! YUM!
Another thing I noticed is the good variety of food available. They offer so much comestible that you’d have a hard time picking. The food they serve are actually palatable. I’m currently loving the halo-halo and mais con hielo.
And the last thing is that they have this segregation going on. Customers are encouraged to separate plastics, papers and styro in the trash bins, and we have separate basins for used plates, cups, spoons, forks, and trays. Good job!
I just hope they keep at it. We’re all keeping our fingers crossed.
cockroach? what the ?!#.
my brother used to have a canteen before somewhere in ayala. they serve good food (my SIL is kapampanga)and they are very keen sa cleaniness. i used to serve there during lunch breaks when i was still in college. i would travel from taft to ayala and vice versa para lang makalibre ng lunch at konti allowance hehe. i was assigned sa rice. ‘pag crush ko na (teller sa philbank) ang bibili, siksik ang rice niya! nakaka-miss din yun a!
