Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. -Max Ehrmann, Desiderata

there it is

February 2, 2010

Three days before our flight to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur for an adventure trip, we decided to get a pregnancy test, just to be sure it’s safe to bungee jump, ride the roller coaster, and zip line. It was early Friday morning when my wife got herself tested. It immediately showed two red lines. She was so shocked she screamed (wireless security systems would have gone haywire). She woke me and dragged me downstairs. “Tignan mo! Tignan mo!” Two red lines. Positive. But we were still skeptic. You see this has happened before. And we don’t want another disappointment. So we decided to do another test the next morning (Saturday). Again, two red lines. Positive.

We immediately went to Asian Hospital for confirmation. I wanted to be 100% sure.

The OB had this scanner device probe her belly. And there it is. One tiny black dot the size of a seed. Our baby at 5 weeks and 1 day.

It’s official. After one year of trying (as mentioned here), we’re going to be parents.
