wanted: an OB

February 5, 2010

Because my wife doesn’t really have her own OB, we’re frantically searching for one now. Two weeks ago, with the pregnancy tests giving two red lines for two consecutive days, we rushed to Asian Hospital for confirmation. It was kinda awkward primarily because the OB we got, recommended by a friend years ago, was a GUY. But we didn’t have a choice as we don’t know anybody else. After meeting him though, I’d say that he was very able and professional.

Earlier this week, we decided to check out another OB near our place, this time recommended by an office friend who gave birth late last year to a beautiful baby girl. This new OB also looks ok. And very motherly.

So far, my wife liked both, even though one was a guy. I have my issues, I guess. I have this silly notion that guys should be doing something else, like maybe repairing and installing electrical wires, cables, and ls2208, or maybe something mechanical like fixing cars and trucks. But that doesn’t really matter. What really matters is who she’s comfortable with. We still have three more OBs to visit though. Hope we find one that’s perfect for us.

did you see george and cecil’s episode re gender of OB? i can see ryan sayo, may issues din siya sa male OB na gusto ni juday. :D

my OB is from MC. mula sa panganay ko until now. she’s very gentle, accommodating and kikay. kampante ako sa kanya that’s why hindi na ako naghanap ng iba.

good luck sa OB hunt.

I had my reservations about male OBs in the beginning. But then even if they were female, I just didn’t click with them. Cut to last year, when my friend reco’d her OB. Guy daw. He was the head of the hospital’s OB dept, so I went for it. All these years I was trying to get pregnant, girl ang OB ko eh. So when I finally got pregnant (without the help of an OB there!), I thought, why not something new? I was soooooo happy with my guy OB. Not because he’s a guy ha, but because we share the same philosophies. Super important kasi non. He was also a very accommodating doctor. Super love him. Sana when we have another baby, he’s still practicing! I’d reco him to you if you’re still looking for an OB.
